About the Artwork

Birth Emerging Of A Bronze Mythical Stylised Sculpture. Statue For Sale For Indoors Inside the Interior of a House or Home.
By The US Award Winning Artist Sculptor Timothy Nimmo) who writes….
“Birth of the Scythian Ram is similar in concept to the “Birth of the Sacred Stag” pieces. This departs from those slightly in that this is Timothy`s homage to the ancient Scythian artists Timothy credits with so much of his inspiration. A little more of their cultural influences were incorporated in the style of this:Babylonian, Aegean, and other Near Eastern cultures of the time known to have traded with the Scythian people.
This depicts that spiritual birthing as their Great Sky God brings forth the first primordial ram from the spirit realm to the physical world. But this is not just representative of the ram as animal spirit being given to the Scythians, but rather as a symbol incarnate of their entire identity, culture, laws, and ways being given to them. The Judeo-Christian equivalent would be Moses coming down Mt Sinai with the tablets of the Ten Commandments.

Artist Comment

Birth of the Scythian Ram is offered in a different patina as well as this one. This patina evokes associations with the cave art of early man. The other patina is a more translucent gold, reminiscent of ancient iconographic statuary or idols. Timothy likes like both, and the different associations each patina evokes. So both are offered. There are also 2 base options- one for interior pedestal or table top placement, the other for free standing placement either indoors or out of doors. As always, many travertine options are available. Please ad $500 USD to the retail price when ordering the free standing base.

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.

  • How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?
