“This is Timothy`s interpretation of an ancient Scythian tattoo found on a 2000 + year old mummy. The tattoo showed a stag with strangely twisted hind quarters. An Lakota holy man and archaeologist rendered his opinion that it was a depiction of a creation myth. He thought it might be showing the moment when the Great Spirit created the first stag. He is “being born” in the sky, transitioning from the spirit realm into the physical world. That may not be what the Scythians meant, but that explanation clicked with Timothy and his sense of wonderment and magic about deer. He thought, “What if an ancient man witnessed this in person, or by a dream or vision? How would he have explained this revelation to his tribe? What would he have sculpted as a relic to show future generations, that his vision might become part of their larger myth?”
The image`s roots are in ancient man; yet the style is rather modern. He elected to bring the piece to a conceptual full circle by using a patina scheme evoking the cave painting of early man.
The truncated pyramid of the base (as in many ancient cultures) is symbolic of the earth and all things physical and mortal. So the stag is being born in spirit world above, and descending to the physical world below.

If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.
For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.
Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
