Artist Comment

Actually, this is the core of the fruit – the stone of the peach. The Greek found the nice name melón Persikón for the delightful fruit, the `Persian apple´, the Latin makes from it malum Persicum. Still today the botanical name leads the Persian in the name of, Prunus persica. Surprisingly there comes the plant from the family of the rose plants – typically for the stone core of the peach it is his thickens, very hard bowl, the deeply grained, furrowed surface, the division in two parts and the fine point … The structure of every core is always same, everybody has his own size, shape and form, however, the whole appears in endlessly many variations and Ausbildungen. The furrows are like a sort of fingerprints, they make every peach stone unmistakeable and unique … In the depths and cavities of the furrows still the treatment is to be looked to the black limestone. Tracks of whetstone and sandpaper, from rasp and diamond sponges prove all sorts of pudrige grey tones, create the impression of something soft. Fine scratches are to be seen where inside forms and outside forms go over in gentle curvatures in each other. The surface is in such a way, as if the wind had sharpened them brilliantly, the black of the Belgian blue stone looks resistant here and hard. Small mussels, snails and worms, but now and then also sea lilies or corals are to be recognised, from the cirque voucher time before 350 million years …

  • The ArtParkS Guarentee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the Artists themselves stating the materiel they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors they have a guarentee of 10 years subject to the effects of weathering which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them  regular cleaning and maintenance. For instance Bronze and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze will aquire a green patina, usually rather sought after and all could attract moss  lichen and a greeny pollen especially under trees which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise(rust ) and this falls outside our guarentee.
Organic materiel like wood, bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited and you should discuss any guarentee direct with the Artist as this too falls outside our Guarentee.
