By The American Sculptress Deedee Morrison Who Writes…….
“Stevens Point, WI Kinetic Sculpture unveiled June 4 at the Stevens Point Sculpture Park.”
The Stevens Point Sculpture Park allows ideas, people, nature, and art to interact together beautifully in the central Wisconsin town of Stevens Point. This emerging green space recently installed a new addition to their growing collection of sculptures on June 4, 2011. Artist Deedee Morrison of Birmingham, Alabama created a design specifically for this site.
The Stevens Point Sculpture Park, a twenty-acre site featuring woodlands, wetlands, ponds and prairie created on the premise that the great outdoors should be an accessible and inviting place for environmental arts exhibitions, activities, and educational programs. Visitors can stroll amongst trees and wetlands or enjoy an afternoon read in the sun, while simultaneously explore well-crafted and thought- provoking art.
Deedee Morrison`s sculpture titled Landscape with Perspective is nestled comfortably in a wooded grove in the sculpture park. This 12 foot tall sculpture, with its brilliant color peeking out from the patterned cut-outs of an aluminum cube is in continuous motion with the wind and reflects the many and constantly changing colors and patterns we find in nature.
Deedee Morrison is an artist specializing in large public works made of aluminum, steel, limestone, lexan, plexiglass, and light. Her sculptures have been exhibited and installed in permanent displays nationwide. Over the years, Morrison has expanded her spatial scope and currently focuses on large- scale work – including site- specific works created for architectural, urban, or landscape settings.

More about deedee morrison- The ArtParkS Guarantee
All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.
For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.
Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
