About the Artwork

The works displayed are individually hand-built using a refractory clay sourced in Verona, Italy. However, the Buffalo Girls can be created in various materials to withstand outdoor temperatures and produced in varying Ceramic Head and Shoulders Women/Females/ Girls Wading in Water for sale in ceramic or Bronze or Iron For Outside Outdoors On the Lawn in the Garden or Pond. This and delightful observation by Emily Little is for sale in a Material of your choice. They are best displayed as a single piece or as a three- part sculptural installation. In multiple-piece works, there is great flexibility in the way the work can be displayed. In this way, equal importance is given to both the dynamic interaction between the pieces and the pieces themselves. Even minimal changes in their positioning, can create subtle shifts in tension and interpretation of the work as a whole and through repetition, can suggest new ideas of pattern, shape, space, form.

Artist Comment

The Buffalo Girls came about from a desire to pare down elements of the female form to the essential the resulting primitive simplicity is a consequence of that process. Similarly, the rudimentary facial features could recall a mask and its purpose both to identify and disguise. The title of the work also recalls Malcolm McLaren`s hit from the early 1980`s and serves to highlight its essentially ironic nature, while at the same time to sharply juxtapose the determined, processional sobriety of the ?girls? themselves.

  • The ArtParkS Guarentee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the Artists themselves stating the materiel they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors they have a guarentee of 10 years subject to the effects of weathering which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them  regular cleaning and maintenance. For instance Bronze and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze will aquire a green patina, usually rather sought after and all could attract moss  lichen and a greeny pollen especially under trees which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise(rust ) and this falls outside our guarentee.
Organic materiel like wood, bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited and you should discuss any guarentee direct with the Artist as this too falls outside our Guarentee.
