Large Contemporary Holed sculpture Limited Edition, Modern Abstract statue in Bronze By the Accomplished British Sculptor Richard Austin
This is using this Antius Bronze, see below….
Antius BronzeTM
Antius BronzeTM is a unique material developed in 2004 by sculptor Richard Austin, it was developed during a time when hundreds of cast bronze sculptures were being stolen due to the high scrap value of the metal. It was developed to provide an alternative to foundry bronze. A material that looks, feels and is as strong as foundry bronze but at a fraction of the cost!
The important Benefit.
By commissioning a work created in Antius BronzeTM the Value of the finished sculpture is all in the visual aesthetic of the work, not in the scrap value of the material the sculpture has been cast in.
Historically sculptors have never sculpted ‘in Bronze’. Bronze is purely the material that foundry has used to cast the finished work, the original sculpture can be of any material. The foundry will use time consuming, labour intensive and very expensive methods to transfer the original into wax so that the lost wax method can be used.
Antius BronzeTM Does not rely on a thickness of cast bronze to create the strength in the work, as you can see from the image the sculpture is solid with reinforcing metal through the centre. Take the analogy of gold leaf, a very thin layer of gold is applied to almost any support structure, the gold is the beauty, the structure is the strength, the same methodology is applied to Antius BronzeTM
The completed sculpture can then be polished and given an acid patina as required to create the Verdigris.

- The ArtParkS Guarantee
All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.
For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.
Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
- How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?
From the moment you place an order and pay ArtParkS, you are protected because half of the payment is immediately used to pay the artist’s deposit, while the other half is retained until the sculpture is delivered safely.
