“I feel human, and hence I call for human rights!”
Kazimiera Bujwidowa (1867-1932)
Year 2018 was a very special year for the people of Poland. Not only we commemorated the 100th anniversary of Polish independence, but also celebrated the centennial of women’s suffrage in Poland. When it comes to women’s struggle for the right to vote, Polish women were Trailblazers indeed. They challenged traditional gender roles heavily reinforced by the Catholic church, and also served as an inspiration to their sisters overseas – Poland was, in fact, one of the earliest adopters of women’s suffrage. And while the right to vote has been a powerful tool for women’s empowerment, it is by no means the panacea for women’s predicament. The contemporary woman still struggles to adroitly balance her personal aspirations and societal expectations. Her advancement and growth are often uncertain, and the many trip wires make them treacherously easy to forfeit. Consequently, Jerzy Kędziora’s “The Trailblazer” invites us to reflect upon and celebrate the her-story of our communities – the communities built on strength and resilience of female Trailblazers.

- The ArtParkS Guarantee
All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.
For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.
Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
- How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?
From the moment you place an order and pay ArtParkS, you are protected because half of the payment is immediately used to pay the artist’s deposit, while the other half is retained until the sculpture is delivered safely.
