About the Artwork

Large Bronze Resin Lifelike Realistic Human Figure Holding Bee Statue, Fragile Life Limited Edition Human and Bee Sculpture Statue Representation of Relationship, Abstract, Symbolism, Modern Memorial Gift Artwork. Animal Sculptures and bespoke commissions for sale by the pre-eminent Animal Sculptor Tanya Russell, MRBS.

This editioned sculpture is made from Bronze Resin, making it robust, weather-resistant, and suitable for outdoor display.

This sculpture is also available in Foundry Bronze metal for £17,950

Material explained: Bronze metal powder is mixed with a resin to make the bronze resin material, which has the appearance of foundry bronze metal. This process creates a material that is more affordable and lightweight, but which can fracture with a heavy impact (unlike the stronger foundry bronze metal).

The beautiful bronze sculpture is a casting of an original sculpture. It is hand cast by a British foundry or resin caster and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This is an original foundry or resin casting of the sculptor`s work that she has personally approved.

Artist Comment

"The ‘Fragile Life’ Figure and Bee sculpture is one of the first large sculptures that I did for myself. It is a progression of the animal relationship theme, and the abstracted technique I’ve been exploring through the Stargazers, Tenderness and Communion figures and animals. The Fragile Life figure is jagged and feels as though it is beginning to fall apart. It holds a disproportionately large bee aloft, symbolising humanity’s (and life’s) symbiotic relationship with pollinators, particularly with bees. We rely on these creatures to pollinate the plants that we eat and that we use in countless industries. They rely on us to protect important habitats and food sources, while also managing parasites and disease. Our bees are as important as us, and so it is enlarged and gold leafed, celebrated by the stretching pose of the figure. If you’d like to support bees in your local area, your local wildlife trust or beekeeping association will have information about how you can help protect these precious creatures, so that we might flourish together."

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.

  • How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?

From the moment you place an order and pay ArtParkS, you are protected because half of the payment is immediately used to pay the artist’s deposit, while the other half is retained until the sculpture is delivered safely.

Insurance in transit should be arranged with the artist prior to ordering.

  • Why Choose ArtParkS for Your Purchase?
