About the Artwork

Carved stone alphabetical lettering rectangular/Square/Cube sculpture/statue/ for sale for outside in the garden or terrace and outdoors in the yard as well as inside, indoors by the versatile and precise sculptor Will Davies.

This alphabet carved in Portland stone sculpture or carved stone lettering statue is the alphabet wrapped around a stone cube, the letters `folding` over the corners present an interesting and pleasing composition. The mathematical precision of the layout gave Will Davis a welcome challenge, successfully mastered.

He is the Holder of the “2009 Letter Carver of the Year” awarded by “The Worshipful Company Of Masons”.

Artist Comment

When designing this piece, I hadn`t taken fully into account the complexity of folding the letters on the corners, and working out the angles each line of letters would take after folding around an edge. Portland Stone was a perfect stone for this project, it is warm in colour, soft and consistent enough to carve well, and hard enough to take a crisp edge.

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.

  • How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?

From the moment you place an order and pay ArtParkS, you are protected because half of the payment is immediately used to pay the artist’s deposit, while the other half is retained until the sculpture is delivered safely.

Insurance in transit should be arranged with the artist prior to ordering.

  • Why Choose ArtParkS for Your Purchase?

When you choose a work of art from ArtParkS, you can be confident that it has been selected by ArtParkS’s curators and will be dispatched directly from the artist’s studio or foundry only after passing their quality control process.

Your sculpture can be delivered anywhere in the world, provided a delivery vehicle can gain access. For special arrangements, contact Peter at peter@artparks.co.uk or +44(0)1481 235571.
