Tessa Hayward has been working from her studio in West Wales for the past fifteen years creating Sculptures for public and private homes and gardens across the UK, America, and Europe.
Tessa has now become an accomplished sculptor and creates unique work using natural materials and methods which are rooted in green woodwork and traditional bark weaving.
Tessa works closely with managers, owners, designers, and event organisers, to realise their ideas, themes, concepts, and enhance the interpretation of visitor sites.
Her clients include The Royal Historical Palaces, National Trust, Wildlife Service Ireland, and National Resources Wales.
I aim to create Sculpture that is full of life and movement, for the viewer to experience my work as if the subject is alive for a fleeting moment. To inspire the viewer`s imagination to feel that the sculpture would move if their back is turned.
I also love working with natural materials and allowing wildlife to thrive amongst them. Over time the surface of my Sculptures will evolve, The copper will patina, The Barks will move from reds to silvery greys and eventually, Mosses, lichen, and other flora will grow over their surface, creating their own ecosystem. So My Sculptural work is very suitable for gardens and natural spaces.
