Mediums Used
Teodor Dukov is a sculptor who has been working as an independent artist for 25 years. He works mostly in wood. He creates colored sculptures and uses wood in combination with other materials by applying both traditional and modern technologies.
I regard my works as wooden sculptures in colour. Wood is a quite sensitive material with extraordinary potential which I aspire to use in combination with other materials by applying both traditional and current technologies.
I am equally enchanted by the technique of gold laying and polishing and by the laser cutting and digital print technology.
My ultimate purpose is to create a three-dimensional illusion through shape, colour and light. My inspiration is nature itself. I like to depict the things that I find beautiful and that make me feel good.
I believe that the future of art lies in eclecticism and merging between the various forms of art. I consider this a natural evolutional process which corresponds to the quests of contemporary people.
I am interested in and inspired by various periods and trends ? from the Egyptian bas-relief images to pop-art and the 3D revolution in cinema.
I think that art should be effective and inspiring, and that the impetus under which it is created should be constructive and positive

The sculpture apple appeared for the first time some 15 years ago. It was then a part of a composition called "Table with apple" which I had produced especially for a furniture exhibition in the gallery "Atelie Botev" I participated in together with some other colleagues. The apple turned out to be interested in the product, so I started to work on this idea and to develop it in different shades and forms. Thus, the apple became an independent product which goes well in different compositions depending on the taste and interior design of art connoisseurs
