Ramsay Dick – Forming bird`s of prey is a real labour of love for me. All my birds are sculpted to capture the power and movement of these magnificent birds in steel. I do not take myself to seriously and most of my work is done purely out of sheer enjoyment.
Standing back at the end of the day and looking at what you have created is pure satisfaction and if I can make someone else smile with my work then it works.

As I am a bit obsessed with wildlife and especially bird`s of prey I try with my work to convey the power and stealth of these impressive birds. I have always had a real knack of drawing these birds with pencil but found in 2D it just wasn`t enough, I had to build one. As a welder the natural choice was steel, a material I know well and as long as you can work it, it has very few limitations. You can beat it, heat it, cut it, bowl it out, bend it and even stretch it.
Leaving school with a handful of "o" grades including an A in art I have pretty much been keen on creating in one way or another but sculpture has come to me later in life
Wildlife, Birds of Prey. Being lucky enough to live in beautiful Galloway S.W. Scotland surrounded by the Galloway Hills wildlife is everywhere and when I`m not sculpting you will find me in the hills sitting waiting for the next inspiration to fly past be it a cunning " corby craw" or a magnificent Golden Eagle {we have a few but an extremely rare sight but worth the wait}
