I would categorize my art /mostly sculpture/ as a contemporary and abstract. Knowing that we live in time of computerization and technologies, I would like to go back to the beginning and creation – the nature and geometry. I am inspired by the beauties of the every living form, the softness of the shapes, contrasting with straight lines and angles.
After a high school of woodcarving, I finished the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria –6 years, subject wood sculpture, but this had never been a reason for me to limit myself using only this material. For more than ten years now I am also working and experimenting with different materials – stone, wood, metal, concrete, sand, ice, snow, ceramics…
Making my sculptures, I am mostly influenced by the photographer Karl Blossfeldt.
Traveling around the world, I had participated in more than 80 international sculpture symposiums in 29 countries Europe, USA, South America, Asia. Since now I have sculptures in museums in Denmark, Egypt and Brazil. For the last years besides working at home, a priority for me is knowing different cultures, meeting and exchanging ideas with artists around the world.
