Using natural themes in a contemporary style, Krystyna aims to create contrasts of stillness and movement, hardness and softness and light and shade.
Her influences include ancient artefacts and Krystyna likes to create pieces – both in ceramic and marble – that could easily have been found in an archaeological site and maybe one day will be.

Krystyna Sargent studied 3 dimensional design at De Montfort University in the U.K. After graduating with a B.A. (Hons) in 1984 she opened her own design studio in Leicestershire producing one-off ceramics, exhibiting in galleries throughout the UK and at that time supplying John Lewis in Oxford Street, London.
Krystyna has frequently been commissioned to design sculptural awards and trophies for sporting events and produces individual achievement awards for dignitaries around the world. This work is produced mainly in resin marble and has led her to pursue her love of marble to direct stone carving in Carrara marble.
Going full circle and back to ceramic - the love of clay, it's endless possibilities using earth's natural minerals have intrigued the artist for some 40 years, Very often the "mistakes" and "misfires" end up leading to new processes that could not have been imagined or planned.
Krystyna is influenced by ancient artefacts and imagery in her ceramics as well as themes from mythology and legend.
