In his work, Hans Grootswagers translates the non mundane into the identifiable. Reality and fiction are interwoven to subsequently merge in ways not always readily perceivable. Mass and volume are allocated new dimensions that consistently present a challenge making for extraordinary sculptures with as source of inspiration abstractions from the world of emotions. This preference for suggested “spatiality and volumes” is expressed not only in his sculptures but also in his wearable gold and silver objects.
