Mediums Used
Dawn was Brough up in Nigeria and it was here that she learnt to appreciate African art and culture, especially after visiting The Sacred Grove of Osun in Oshogbo. Susanne Wenger, the founder of the “New Sacred Art” movement, who lived there until her death in 2009, had a huge impact on Dawn as did Giacometti. Now living in Morocco, Dawn`s art combines the simplicity and sinewy figures of Giacometti with the natural and organic forms found in African art.
Trained and studied in Morocco, her choice to create in metal, stems from a love of the tactile, durable attributes of the material, giving even the most delicate of pieces great strength.
Client Comment:
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish with the sculptress (Dawn Boys-Stones, Morocco) and ArtParkS International. They both ably assisted with our purchasing the beautiful sculpture and having it rapidly and carefully shipped to its new home in the U.S. We are thrilled with the installation and look forward to possibilities for more exchange.
