Mediums Used
Much of Ashley Baldwin-Smith`s work is inspired by found objects and materials and hence very varied. His workshop is full of `stuff` everything from combine harvester parts to snooker balls.
Before taking a degree in Art, Ashley worked for ten years as a skilled prototype engineer and uses many of those skills such as welding and fabricating to create his sculptures.
The found object is a recurring theme throughout Ashley`s sculptures and mixed media work. Consequently, as the materials he uses are so varied, his work takes many forms.
