Andrej Mitevski has a rare skill of bringing the heart of the stone, almost as if had feelings, into play in nearly all his sculpture. He is in tune and often ahead of modern thought when it comes to art, capturing the essence of those unvoiced yearnings in a very real and original way.

The organic shape of my projects has intention to emphasize that life and the nature has an ability to correct itself and overcome almost any obstacle.
Emerging or better creating is a category that comes with the responsibility and power, to say something, to show your idea, your vision for the future.
So, in a way I am seeing these sculptures as monuments for the future.
In my sculpture the light and dark plays the game and also the ratio between the hollow parts and the full mass of the sculpture.
This game (play) between the opposite masses makes the shape interactive and open.
This sculpture is reviling the inside of an idea, so in the stone block there is an
Inner window which is appearing to the public.

Credentials

Biography

Born: 31. 10. 1976 in Skopje, Macedonia.
Finished Art school in 1995 and Academy for fine arts in 1999-Skopje. Best University student of the Academy of fine arts in 1999.
Finished postgraduate studies in the same Academy in 2000/2002.

Teaching Experience
Worked at the national Academy of art in Skopje as a substitute professor of sculpture in 2005. Worked at the International Balkan University in Skopje as a professor of art from 2011 till 2013.
