‘Seer of the woods through the Trees’ Cold Cast Bronze 51Hx59Wx33D cm ‘Seer of the woods through the trees’, portrays a Bornean Orangutan. This close relative of man has been hunted, sold, and shot as trespassers in their own backyard and as a result, reducing their numbers to critical levels. Biodiversity loss is the main cause of their decline. Palm oil is the number one cause of deforestation. Targeting awareness campaigns to help people recognise unsustainable palm oil in products, and conforming to ethical and moral principles to stop the exploitation of these animals, is the key to unlocking a more stable future for our cousins. In doing so, we will also protect the natural biodiversity in which the orangutans live. Reducing the imminent threat of global warming and in doing so, saving us all. Orang Utan or’ Person of the forest’ as their name directly translates, are the ambassadors for change, for they are the visionaries of the forest, who would prefer to see the woods through the trees. It begs the question, who are we to call them primitive?

More about Casey Nadine Banwell- The ArtParkS Guarantee
All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.
For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.
Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
