About the Artwork

Sebastian Novaky has once again created a really Memorable Doberman Sculpture, in Stainless Steel and says…
“My inspiration for “the Doberman” came from my deep-seated admiration for the breed and a continuous exploration of how to translate the essence of animals into sculptural forms using modern materials. The Doberman’s poised stance and watchful gaze have always intrigued me, and I saw in it a perfect subject to showcase the potential of stainless steel.
The creative journey started with in-depth research into the Doberman’s physical characteristics and behavior. I studied countless images and observed real-life Dobermans to capture their unique essence. Then, I began sketching, experimenting with different geometric shapes to create a sense of dynamism and structure. Working with a team of skilled artisans, we used advanced metal-working techniques to shape the stainless steel into the intricate, hollowed-out form of the Doberman. The mirror – finish of the stainless steel not only gives the sculpture a touch of elegance but also serves as a reflective surface that interacts with the surrounding environment, blurring the lines between the art piece and its context.
An interesting aspect of this artwork is that the hollowed-out design not only adds a sense of lightness and transparency to the otherwise solid-looking metal but also symbolizes the intangible qualities of the Doberman, such as its spirit and character. In the landscape of stainless steel modern sculptures and animal metal sculptures, “the Doberman” is a sincere expression of my artistic vision, aiming to evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for both the beauty of nature and the possibilities of modern art.

Artist Comment

In my pursuit of exploring the paradoxical relationship between animals and modern - day society, I craft stainless - steel, hollowed - out animal sculptures that are not just physical forms but metaphors. My art is a rebellion against the self - indulgence, materialism, and cynicism of society, aiming to create a space where one can find spiritual balance. Through the language of art, I engage in a dual dialogue: one with the creative process itself and another with the audience, inviting them to transcend the physical world and delve into the realm of the metaphysical. These sculptures are a testament to the transformative power of thought, a radical shift from my past life in finance, and a bold step into a world where art becomes a medium for emotional, sensory, and imaginative exploration.

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
