Two Steel Abstract Elephants, by Sebastian Novarky, who unrestrained by Convention has created these two contrasting Beasts in his Usual Original way. The sculpture features two elephants, one crafted from sleek stainless steel and the other from textured corten steel. The stainless steel elephant, with its mirror-like surface, reflects the surrounding environment, creating a dynamic interplay between the artwork and its context. It symbolizes the modern, polished world, where everything seems to be in a constant state of reflection and self-awareness. In contrast, the corten – steel elephant, with its rust – like patina, evokes a sense of timelessness and connection to the earth. It represents the raw, natural world, with its enduring beauty and resilience.
The creative process was a labor of love and a meticulous exploration of form and material. I delved deep into the anatomy of elephants, studying their massive bodies, their long trunks, and their large ears. Sketching countless drafts, I aimed to capture the essence of their grace and strength. Working closely with a team of skilled metal artisans, we utilized advanced metal-working techniques to bring my vision to life. The choice of stainless steel and corten steel was deliberate, as I wanted to contrast the shiny, reflective quality of the former with the rough, earthy texture of the latter, highlighting the duality between the modern and the natural.
An intriguing aspect of “Mirrored Elephant” is the way the two elephants seem to interact with each other and their surroundings. The stainless steel elephant’s reflective surface often captures the image of the corten steel elephant, creating a visual dialogue between the two. It’s as if they are in a constant conversation, representing the ongoing interaction between the man-made and the natural world.

- The ArtParkS Guarantee
All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.
For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.
Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
