About the Artwork

Long Arm is a portrait Sculpture of a living Sumatran Orangutan, by Casey Nadine Banwell the Wild life Campaigner and sculptor. The Orangutan is called Leuser.
Leuser was shot 64 times in the face and groin and has now been left permanently blind. All because he stumbled onto a Palm Oil plantation, looking for food. His life changing injuries mean he can now no longer be returned to the wild.
Casey wishes to tell his story through her sculpture. A story of true resilience and love.
Lueser’s story unfortunately is not an isolated event. Orangutans are shot daily for accidently stumbling onto Palm oil Plantations as they look for food, although the plantations hold no nutrition for the Orangutan, the Orangutan is forced to seek food there as the plantation now consumes the rich biodiversity that once was home and sustenance to them.
Unfortunately because of this human invasion on the wild, the Orangutan are now seen as pests in what was once their own backyard.

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.

  • How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?

From the moment you place an order and pay ArtParkS, you are protected because half of the payment is immediately used to pay the artist’s deposit, while the other half is retained until the sculpture is delivered safely.

Insurance in transit should be arranged with the artist prior to ordering.

  • Why Choose ArtParkS for Your Purchase?

When you choose a work of art from ArtParkS, you can be confident that it has been selected by ArtParkS’s curators and will be dispatched directly from the artist’s studio or foundry only after passing their quality control process.

  • How to Purchase from ArtParkS

You can either speak with or correspond with Peter at ArtParkS before placing an order, or simply click the Buy Nowbutton and follow the instructions, adding the delivery charge unless the artist is offering free delivery.

Payment can be made by Direct Debit, cheque, credit or debit card, or PayPal, though we try to avoid the latter as we have to pass on their 5% fee to you.

  • Where Can Your Order Be Delivered?

Your sculpture can be delivered anywhere in the world, provided a delivery vehicle can gain access. For special arrangements, contact Peter at peter@artparks.co.uk or +44(0)1481 235571.
