About the Artwork

Prowling Leopard in Stainless Steel Sculpture, by Sebastian Novaky, who adds “Should one have the opportunity to touch it, the smooth and cool texture of the stainless steel offers a tactile experience that is both luxurious and modern. It’s a sensation that evokes a sense of refinement and high-end craftsmanship.
Now, let’s consider the auditory aspect. Imagine a gentle breeze passing through the hollowed – out sections of the sculpture. There might be a soft, whispering sound, almost like the stealthy movement of the real leopard through the underbrush. This auditory element adds another layer to the overall sensory experience, blurring the line between the static art piece and the dynamic natural world.
The theme of this work revolves around the multi-sensory exploration of the leopard’s essence. I was inspired by the desire to create a piece that goes beyond mere visual representation and engages the viewer on a deeper, more immersive level. By incorporating these different sensory elements, I aimed to capture the spirit of the leopard in a more comprehensive way.
What makes “Leopard” truly special is its ability to offer different sensory experiences at different times and seasons. In the warm glow of the summer sun, the reflections on the stainless steel are more intense, and the sculpture seems to radiate a sense of energy. In the cool light of winter, the smoothness of the steel feels even more pronounced, and the soft sounds from the breeze might carry a hint of the quietness of the season.

Artist Comment

Striving for a sense of harmony, even in the most uncertain of circumstances, inspires me to make sculpture. I aim to stimulate emotions, feelings and the imagination. I want to create an atmosphere conducive to achieving a sense of well-being, happiness and joy. My work is figurative but it is meant to be metaphorical, not simply representational. In attempting to achieve a spiritual balance in my life and work, I look for alternatives to the self-absorption, materialism and cynicism that often seem prevalent in society. I try to focus on the metaphysical rather than the evidence of the physical world.

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
