About the Artwork

Hope Portraying a Pangolin Uncurling Sculpture, By Casey Nadine Banwell the Wild Life Consevation artist and campaigner showing here it emerging bravely from its natural defence position.
Humans are the biggest threat to the Pangolin, as it is currently the most illegally trafficked animal worldwide.
This piece signifies the importance of immediate human intervention if the pangolin is to evade extinction.
We hope that the species might thrive once more as conservation efforts provide better education, support, and teachings, so that we may better understand the Pangolin and protect them for many future generations to come.

Casey Nadine Banwell is an accomplished sculptress in the film industry, with over ten years experience. Through sales of her sculpture, she has helped fund the introduction of legislation banning the use of wild animals in films. Since 2020, Casey has channelled her remarkable talent into creating and promoting inspired and inspirational pieces with the sole aim of helping the species they represent. Casey’s work has greatly benefitted rescue, rehabilitation and release programs for Global Conservation Orangutan Projects. Sales of her work have so far enabled the purchase of 46 acres of Sumatran rainforest, providing safe passage for animals through habitat ravaged by palm oil production. Casey’s pangolin sculpture ‘Protection’ has raised funds to provide ambassadors for The Pangolin Project in the Maasai Mara. In March 2022, on World Wildlife Day, two bronzes of ‘Protection’ were simultaneously installed in the grounds of No 10 Downing Street and in the State House in Nairobi. The Nairobi installation was ceremonially presented to the First Lady of Kenya, by Lord Zac Goldsmith, to symbolise British and Kenyan resolve to protect pangolin. Casey’s work has recently featured in a prestigious exhibition at the OXO gallery, London in November 2023 among six award-winning wildlife artists. she has also won Best in Show and a medal of honour from Artists for Conservation and a badge of honour from the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. Casey has also exhibited to critical acclaim in London’s Mall Galleries, the Waterfront Gallery in Milford Haven and the Vandusen Botanical Gardens in Vancouver. She has also just recently received another three awards, including one for best sculpture and one for the voice of the people in the recent TWASI nature in art exhibition. A third cannot yet be disclosed. With a number of recognised pieces, and new projects in progress, Casey is looking to further showcase her work through gallery exhibitions at home and abroad; to continue to widen her recognition as a conservation artist, dedicated to protecting the animals which continue to inspire her work.

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.

  • How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?

From the moment you place an order and pay ArtParkS, you are protected because half of the payment is immediately used to pay the artist’s deposit, while the other half is retained until the sculpture is delivered safely.

Insurance in transit should be arranged with the artist prior to ordering.

  • Why Choose ArtParkS for Your Purchase?

When you choose a work of art from ArtParkS, you can be confident that it has been selected by ArtParkS’s curators and will be dispatched directly from the artist’s studio or foundry only after passing their quality control process.

  • How to Purchase from ArtParkS

You can either speak with or correspond with Peter at ArtParkS before placing an order, or simply click the Buy Nowbutton and follow the instructions, adding the delivery charge unless the artist is offering free delivery.

Payment can be made by Direct Debit, cheque, credit or debit card, or PayPal, though we try to avoid the latter as we have to pass on their 5% fee to you.

  • Where Can Your Order Be Delivered?

Your sculpture can be delivered anywhere in the world, provided a delivery vehicle can gain access. For special arrangements, contact Peter at peter@artparks.co.uk or +44(0)1481 235571.
