Outsize Seahorse Stainless Steel Sculpture, by Sebastian Novaky for the modern environment, the hippocampus sculpture stands out uniquely. Its intricate, hollowed-out structure, crafted from stainless steel, reflects the surrounding city lights and architecture, creating a striking contrast between the organic form of the sea creature and the man-made surroundings. It has a transformative effect on the space around it, injecting a touch of the natural world’s wonder and a sense of tranquility into the hustle and bustle of the city.
My creative inspiration stemmed from my imagination of time – space transformation and my contemplation of how animals adapt to different environments. I wondered how a hippocampus, accustomed to the fluid and serene underwater world, would exist in the rigid and dynamic urban setting. This led me to create a sculpture that not only captures the physical beauty of the hippocampus but also symbolizes the resilience and adaptability of life in the face of changing circumstances.
The theme of this work revolves around the relationship between time, space, and living organisms. When displayed in different scenarios, the sculpture seems to tell different stories of time and space. In a public square, it might evoke a sense of the ancient connection between humans and the sea, as if reminding us of our long – standing relationship with marine life. In a private garden, it could be seen as a symbol of a peaceful coexistence between nature and the modern home, a quiet reminder of the beauty that exists beyond the urban chaos.
In the realm of modern stainless – steel animal sculptures, my “Hippocampus” is a testament to my artistic exploration of the complex interplay between different temporal and spatial dimensions and the living world.

- The ArtParkS Guarantee
All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.
For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.
Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.
Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.
