Artist Comment

A strong defiant figure from Ancient Greek mythology at the point of capture. He grasps the giant fennel stalk in hand; containing the smouldering embers of fire which he took from the gods` forge at Olympus to give to man. This angered the gods and arduous punishment ensued for Prometheus, we see here Prometheus awaiting his fate. The figure also conveys a more vunerable mortal quality the more viewed. The strain evident in every taught muscle and tendon. Some have said the sculpture represents those throughout human history who have suffered for their fight against injustice. The artist rendered the form with rapid modelling in clay, giving Prometheus a texture with great movement. Again, a cold cast bronze edition is currently available for despatch. Prometheus enjoyed a spell at Woburn Abbey, where the work received much praise from The Duke and Duchess, their guests and the visiting public.

  • The ArtParkS Guarantee

All the sculptures on the website are described by the artists themselves, stating the material they are made from and their dimensions. If they are stated to be suitable for outdoors, they have a guarantee of 10 years, subject to the effects of weathering, which will alter their colour and finish over the years unless you give them regular cleaning and maintenance.

For instance, bronze, and to a lesser extent bronze resin/cold cast bronze, will acquire a green patina, usually rather sought after. All can attract moss, lichen, and a greenish pollen, especially under trees, which should be removed regularly with warm water and washing-up liquid.

Iron and steel will oxidise (rust), and this falls outside our guarantee.

Organic material like wood and bark willow is variable and depends to a great extent on where it is sited. You should discuss any guarantee directly with the artist, as this too falls outside our guarantee.

  • How Does ArtParkS Ensure Your Protection?

From the moment you place an order and pay ArtParkS, you are protected because half of the payment is immediately used to pay the artist’s deposit, while the other half is retained until the sculpture is delivered safely.
