Tim Carter`s Statement
‘Glass is the compelling, principal material in my work; it is enhanced by combining it with other materials, such as stainless steel, steel or slate.

My interest lies in the refractive, reflective and structural properties of glass; how it can be manipulated and decorated to affect the passage of light and colour through it.

The work is formed using a wide variety of techniques and processes, to produce a range of work, which is both sculptural and functional, with an emphasis on design, geometry and construction.’

Reviews

”Tim Carter is a highly professional restorer of traditional leaded light windows (amongst other talents). He has undertaken a great deal of work over many years at Rockingham Castle. He has become a trusted contractor, carrying out work of a delicate and sensitive nature to windows of great antiquity. He is very thorough and conscientious, and I cannot recommend his skill highly enough.”

Andrew Norman, Operations Manager, Rockingham Castle.

Rolls-Royce Science Prize / Eden Project Environment Award.
“We approached Tim with a problem and some ideas when we required a trophy to be produced for presentation at a prestigious company event. Throughout the process, Tim was positive and supportive, his experience and skills really making a difference. Tim mixed materials and disciplines to produce a unique piece, delivered on time to a tight schedule. Needless to say the finished article was stunning. ”

Dean Wright, Civil Airlines Operations, Rolls-Royce Plc.
