Born in India in 1957, Sangeeta Sagar became a student of art at the age of 15. Her interest in art grew during her school years which motivated her to pursue the subject in further education. She then did a bachelors degree in Fine Arts and subsequently a postgraduate degree in Fine Arts and Appreciations, for which she was ranked second in her university and awarded Artist of the Year.
While at University Sangeeta did her first art exhibition and has since done 3 solo shows and participated in various exhibitions in both painting and sculpture in Chandigarh (India), New Delhi (India), Kuwait, Bristol and Surrey in the UK.
Sangeeta`s artwork is on display at various art galleries in India including National Gallery of Modern Art, AIFACS, Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi and is held in collection with private collectors in the UK, India, Canada, Kuwait and UAE.
Sangeeta enjoys expressing herself through various media, namely sculpture (bronze and wood), paintings (oil on canvas) and drawings (chalk and charcoal). She describes her style as individualistic, which amalgamates a diversity of artistic forms including abstract, cubism, realism and surrealism.
Sangeeta currently works from her home studio in Surrey, where she lives with her husband and has two daughters.
