French sculptor Regis Chaperon has a background in stone masonry, with a professional career that goes back to when he started an apprenticeship at 17 years of age with the well-known French school of stonemasonry, “Les Compagnons du Devoir”. Regis` natural sensitivity for form and artistic flair led him to Carrara and later to the University of Valencia, Spain where he became involved in contemporary concepts of art.

Regis Chaperon`s work has increasingly evolved from the figurative style to include abstraction and design. The pure and simple lines combine with the use of textures, creating contrasts between the polished finish and the natural break of the stone. Everything is aimed at revealing the beauty of the material, guided by fundamental concepts such as: dynamism and sensuality. It is important to Regis that his sculptures should be an approachable medium than everyone feels able to relate to.

Regis` sculptures are now in private collections in England, France and Spain and in galleries in London and Oxfordshire. He has public work in Germany and Italy and he works in public and private commissions worldwide. He specializes also in other kind of commissions such as street furniture, urban design, interior design where he brings together his artistic vision and his considerable technical knowledge of working with stone.
