Strongly defending traditional stone craftmanship, “ best craftsman of France” in 1979, Philippe André knows how to link in new technology with ancestral knowledge. He is well known for 40 years of original and lively production of stone carvings and sculpture.
His creations reply to all kind of commissions by public or private clients. From gargoyles to funeral art, from charming bird baths in a japanese style garden to monumental fountains in an urban surrounding, from the utilitarian sculpture, a church altar or a carved stone furniture combining other material like glass, stainless steel, copper or wood to monumental size monolithic statues, a contemporary approach is found throughout all of his creative work.
