Part of the challenge of sculpting to me is getting the likeness in a portrait and not just capturing the character and spirit of the subject. It is a special moment when you see the customer recognise their animal you have been commissioned to make. When free from that challenge I like the idea that I can exploring any subjects that fascinate and interest me.

Nicholas Collins main focus of interest and creativity is animals, military and mythology, but he is not bound by these subjects and likes to explore other subject matter.
His animal sculptures include many commissions for portraits including the late Queen Mothers racehorse Kings Rhapsody which was auctioned off for charity.
When it comes to sculpture for the garden Nick likes to delve more into the world of mythology and fantasy. He designs pieces that compliments a garden adding both a focal and talking point to the surroundings.
