Notably a portrait sculptor, born in Northampton. He trained at Blackpool College of Art and graduated with an honours degree in fine art from Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham, in 1980. His portraits include the then Prime Minister, John Major, the cricketer Geoff Boycott, and the writer, Jeffrey Bernard. Major commissions include a twice life-size bronze Rearing Horse for the Boots Company, a D H Lawrence Memorial for the author’s study centre in his home town of Eastwood and a 1.5 x life-size bronze figure of the Olympic oarsman Sir Steven Redgrave in his home town of Marlow-on-Thames.
