Mediums Used

Luke Boam works as a hard landscaping profesional in Scotland. His passion is to create works using natural resources which will blend in with the spectacular beauty of the Scottish countryside. His creative ability began to develop when in a dream he saw a work of art made using an innovative technique never before seen. This resulted in him creating uniquely beautiful pieces. Gradually he perfected his style until sculpture became his main medium of
expression.
Then, during a visit to Barcelona, Spain, he was inspired to try something out-of-the ordinary. He saw the works of Gaudi and others who created beautiful works using discarded objects, such as broken ceramic tiles, pieces of glass or soda cans.
His creative experience and love of art enabled him to innovate creations using obsolete materials which were transformed and given new life, and received the name of “Metamorphosis”. Just as the worm transforms into a butterfuly, Luke Boam takes useless and uninteresting objects and transforms
them into things of beauty and significance.
“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.” Aristotle
“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.” Camille Pissarro

The son of farmers in southern Scotland, Luke Boam grew up learning to love and care for nature. He felt an admiration for the majesty of the flora and fauna, and made use of what was at hand to create his own tribute to nature. A tree trunk, a piece of slate, any material is good for allowing his imagination to fly. At present, he is experimenting with new and unusual materials which give character and originality to his creations.
