Mediums Used
Linda`s focus has been on the casting of resin-bronzes from clay, a medium she loves and which allows her to capture the subtle nuances of expression and movement peculiar to her subjects.
To behold a beautiful work of art is a joy. To be able to create something with my own hands, I consider a blessing.

Qualifications

I taught woodcarving to adults for 12 years and interspersed with family life, somehow squeezed in heraldic carving and painting, restoration work in country mansions and Norwich Cathedral. I carved fairground horses and rocking-horses. I also carved two village signs, restored others as well as taking on various smaller commissions.
I am also a qualified Shiatsu practitioner. Shiatsu is a combination of Japanese massage and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Therefore I am very conscious of ambience and used to handling bodies and giving treatments. Touch is extremely important and a piece must feel right if it is to look right. In my professional practice, I always concluded each session with relaxing work on the head, so that now when I am creating a portrait sculpture, the contours feel familiar and seem to come alive under my hands as I try to get a sense of the personality within.
Now retired, I am enjoying my renaissance, particularly my love of modelling in clay. I am able to combine intuition and love of physical form as I try to capture the elusive qualities that establish an individual?s personality, the sinuous lines of an animal or the shape and form of abstract art.
If I can add a little joy to somebody?s life with any one of my creations, I shall be extremely happy. Many thanks for looking at my site and I wish you health and happiness.
She has carried out restoration work in Norwich Cathedral as well as large country houses.
