Laurence Saunois was born in 1966 in a small city close to Paris. However far she remember herself, she has always liked drawing and carving. When she was young, she use to draw all the time, especially horses.

Biography

She is completely self-educated, use all the pictural techniques but strongly feel for acrylic and oil.
Ten years ago, she left behind me Paris to come to live in the family house with more close to nature and the animals.
Since 2002, She`ve devoted herself completely to the animal painting and carving. She is trying through her animal`s portraits to make the soul of the subject show through.
She doesn`t specialize in a particular animal because she like them all. It`s her great passion.
Behind every sculpture realized, there is a story, one or several people she met. How to get the right glance, attitude, posture... very often, with patience.

In 2003, Laurence Saunois wrote a novel : "Tchuck or not very ordinary autobiography of an extraordinary dog". It obtained a great International price of literature by European Academy of Art. This book tells about the life of my dog - a hyperactive dog.

She is member of the Society of Animal Artists of New York (USA) and member of the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society in England. She exhibits in USA, in England, in Japan, in Belgium and in France.

In 2010, she won the BBC International Wildlife Art of the Year Category at the prestigious BBC Wildlife Artist of The Year Contest.
