Kerstin Hedstrom`s sculpture and installations found objects and recycled materials are integrated and given new life. The intention is to create environment conducive to peace, reflection and contemplation.

The things I’m surrounded by are of great importance to me, especially in moments and phases of my life that hold a lot of emotional weight. Objects become silent witnesses and symbols of events, feelings and experiences.
When my desire is to tell a story through a sculpture or an art installation, I often use these meaningful objects, organised into patterns, surfaces and shapes.
I am a slow person, slow in thought, expression and emotion. This is also reflected in my art – I work with slow-art.
With my work I hope to create meditative places and environments that give room for rest, consideration and contemplation.

Teaching Experience
Usually my lectures are all in swedish. However, if you are a smaller group of laid-back people with some consideration for my moderate language skills, lectures in English aswell is a possibility. The most common theme of my lectures is my work in general, including photograps and films. I also give lectures with more specific themes including: Livstycken - about a public piece made by tousands of glass lenses Five senses - about a public piece made of concrete Searching for bunkers along the coastline of Jylland Light and Reflections - about my work that interacts with light and optical effects.
