She cam to England in 1964 and attended various classes for drawing and painting. For several years she made collages, and it was this 3 diminsional form of art which started her interest in sculptures.
In 1983 Christa attended a sculpture course by Major Tugwell/Judy Cousins, learning also mould making and casting in bronze resin. For many years she shared a studio with Judy Cousins and three other painters and sculptors. She also joined classes at a local Adult Education Centre where she made porcelain and terracotta figures.
