Becky Christenson walks the land in Madison County and around Beaver Lake, Arkansas and takes in the glorious nature she is surround by there. She keep visuals in her mind of things she see and those images then inspire paintings, sculptures, or some other clay item. Nature also motivates her to create art that can be displayed in the outdoors. Maybe it is a free standing sculpture created with pieces from nature impressed into the clay that ends up dressing up a flower bed. In the end, it is creating art inspired by nature that Christenson has to do.
I specialize in architectural ceramics and clay sculpture for public or private, interior or exterior spaces. Just as nature is diverse, my creations are diverse in subject matter ranging from realism to abstract. When on my acreage in Northwest Arkansas, I take in the glorious nature that is there. I keep visuals in my mind of things I see and I take those images back to the studio where they fuel my creativity. It is creating inspired by nature that I have to do. My work has appeared in one woman shows, galleries, and group shows and is in private collections in the USA and abroad.
