Anne`s work is informed by plant life both above ground and under water. Large forms are created using small elements from different plants and plant structures with a desire to capture some of the rich complexity of the plant world. She sees each plant as a sculpture, and her preliminary studies attempt to capture some of the most complex structures in microscopic detail
Anne`s work as a ceramic sculptor aims to capture some of the amazing complexity of the plant world. Her ceramic forms are often built up of hundreds of small pieces with an emphasis on structure and detail so that they eye is drawn to the microscopic detail of the surface. Fragility and strength are both intriguing concepts in the natural world and she is drawn to convey these contrasting factors in her own work.
